HIPS™ 1.75 mm/ 1KG (high Impact Polystyrene) is a solvent filament that is often used as a support material. It is excellent as a support material because it can be easily removed with Limonene solution, leaving high quality and clean prints.
For best results, you should print at a temperature of 220-250°C and the print bed should be heated to 70-110°C. Please note that the printing temperature range may differ slightly depending on the use of other printers.

HIPS, a copolymer that combines the strength of polystyrene and the elasticity of rubber, is typically used in protective packaging and flexible containers. In the world of 3D, HIPS plays a different role than usual filaments such as PLA, PETG, ASA filaments... 3D printers cannot print on nothing: this is where support structures come into play. Usually what sticks out during printing requires an underlying structure, and this is where HIPS comes into play.

You can pair HIPS with another filament in a dual extrusion printer and get great results because HIPS does its job by acting as an excellent support material. It's a great support material because it removes easily using limonene solution, leaving you with the high-quality 3D print you want.

The best way to use HIPS is to combine it with ABS. HIPS is ideal for printing alongside ABS because it has a similar level of strength and stiffness and also because ABS needs to be printed at the same temperature. It is important to remember that limonene damages other 3D printer filaments, which is why the ABS combination is the best.

The good thing is that it doesn't require cutting, scraping, or other removal methods that could damage your prints. To obtain good results, it is necessary to print at a temperature of 220-250°C and the printing plate must be heated to 70-110°C. Please note that the printing temperature range may vary slightly depending on your printer.
