Prints like PLA, shines like metal!

Proto-paste Stainless Steel PLA is a dense material that is just as easy to print as standard PLA, but produces heavy, metallic-looking prints that can be brushed, sanded, or polished after printing for stunning results. Perfect for jewelry, costumes, props, figurines, crafts, robots and more! We recommend you experiment with this starter kit (including instructional videos).

This filament is more abrasive than standard PLA. Be prepared to replace the nozzle and adjust the first coat. Use a wear-resistant nozzle and/or a larger diameter nozzle to extend maintenance intervals. In filament form, SSPLA is slightly more fragile than standard PLA and requires extra care when handling. Processing is comparable to standard PLA, no heated build bed is required. The printing process may be less consistent with smaller nozzles and/or Bowden machines. To obtain the best possible print quality, we recommend printing with direct drive systems (DirectDrive extruders), with 0.6 mm nozzles and at a printing temperature of 210-230°C.
