MICRO SWISS MK10 0.4mm ALL METAL HOTEND KIT

This is a full metal hotend upgrade kit for MK10 style extruders. The thermal barrier tube is made of 2 different materials. The bottom heat break is made of stainless steel and the top cooler part is made of aluminum. Stainless steel was used for the heat break because it has low thermal conductivity and aluminum was used for the top because it has much better thermal conductivity, to carry the heat away from the filament. The full metal hotend will allow you to print at much higher temperatures than the stock PTFE coated one. Another benefit of a full metal hotend design is more consistent control of the melt chamber. During low extrusion speeds, the PTFE coated hotend has a tendency to have a transition zone from solid to molten plastic that moves up creating more stringy prints. With an all metal design the transition zone is always consistent, being right at the heat break. At high extrusion speed, the PTFE tube does not have enough thermal conductivity to properly melt all the plastic coming out. On MK10 extruders this limitation occurs around 60 mm/s, depending on the nozzle size. The all-metal hotend solves this problem: the plastic is surrounded by a thermally conductive nozzle along its entire length.
