DJI M4 Obstacle Module

The Obstacle Detection Module combines rotating LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar technologies for improved positioning in low-light conditions. Operational safety is ensured in variable environments such as power line distribution networks and intricate substation layouts.

1. Make sure the aircraft is powered off before installation or removal.

2. During installation, be sure to hand-tighten the rear screws with the included hex screwdriver to secure them and ensure a secure installation.

3. Once installation is complete, update the firmware on all devices to the latest version and activate them by following the app instructions.

4. Before flight, verify that the obstacle sensing module is functioning properly. It is recommended to fly in environments with good GNSS signals and favorable weather conditions. The obstacle sensing module's performance may be limited in the following situations. Therefore, pay attention to flight safety:

1) The aircraft cannot actively avoid fast-moving objects (e.g., operating wind turbines, moving tower cranes, flying birds, etc.);

2) The ability to avoid and evade obstacles may vary depending on environmental factors (clouds, fog, rain, snow, dust) and the material, position and shape of the object in question;

3) The obstacle is within the blind spot of the obstacle detection module. For details on the blind spot range, see the obstacle detection module user manual;

4) In the presence of small branches or cables with a diameter of less than 12 mm along the flight path, or when the drone flies vertically near inclined cables;

5) Due to national regulatory restrictions, the radar may not be activated or may only work with limited functions in some countries and regions.

5. The obstacle sensing module contains precision components; external impacts or drops may damage it or reduce its accuracy. Handle it with care to avoid dropping it.

6. When not using the obstacle sensing module, install the protective cover to prevent surface wear.
