5 Products DJI Will Stop Supporting in 2024

What a year it has been for DJI drone enthusiasts! From the dual-camera Air 3 to the omnidirectional sensor Mini 4 Pro, the company has released some of its most powerful and feature-packed drones in 2023. But as more advanced products are launched, older drones reach the end of their lifespan. life cycle (EOL). We are aware of at least five DJI products whose service and support will end in 2024, and the list includes the popular Matrice payload-lifting drones.

Establishing overall product lifecycles is standard practice for technology companies. DJI also periodically evaluates its products and accessories before determining the timing of end-of-service services.

“Because electronic products are affected by technological developments and changes in usage requirements, each generation of products has a fixed life cycle,” DJI says. “To continuously provide you with a high-level product and service experience, we regularly optimize resource allocation to promote the development and application of new products and technologies.”

Five DJI products will reach their expiration date on February 24, 2024. These are drone platforms and accessories. Take a look:

Product name Production suspension time Service suspension time
Matrix 600 December 2016 February 24, 2024
D-RTK December 2017 February 24, 2024
Matrix 200 series January 2019 February 24, 2024
Matrix 100 January 2019 February 24, 2024

DJI designed the Matrice drone platforms for professional aerial photography, film-making and industrial applications. The M600, in particular, can leverage the D-RTK high-precision navigation and positioning system with A3 series flight controllers.

As you can see, DJI stopped producing all of these products some time ago. And for the past few years, the tech giant has been diligently providing maintenance and support services for these products.

But now the company is recommending users to upgrade. Here's DJI:

Starting from the date of discontinuation of service, we will no longer provide services for these products that relate to requests for product information, technical support and product maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you are still using one of the above products, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to a new model alternative product so that you can take advantage of our latest and improved technologies, and we can continue to provide you with efficient customer service.
