xTool WonderPress – A Modular Platform for Heat Pressing and 3D Crafting
The xTool WonderPress combines an automatic heat press with an expandable modular platform for additional creative processes. The core system is designed with interchangeable modules, allowing the same platform to support both traditional heat transfer onto flat surfaces, and optional workflows such as 3D sublimation, thermoforming, DTF curing, and craft heating.
The exact functionalities available depend on your WonderPress configuration and selected modules. This makes the platform suitable for both users primarily focused on apparel processing and making transfers, and for crafters who want to expand into more specialized 3D applications in the future.
Automatic Pressure Up to 100 kg
The heat press module automatically applies up to 100 kg of pressure, reducing the physical exertion associated with manual pressing and ensuring uniform force across the workpiece. Pressure can be adjusted in 1 kg increments, giving users more control when working with materials that require different transfer settings.
The automatic mechanism handles both pressing and lifting, helping to create a smoother workflow for repetitive production tasks.


Even Heat Distribution Across the Pressing Area
xTool uses a high-density heating tube configuration, combined with an ultra-flat platen, to improve temperature and pressure uniformity from the center to the edges of the pressing area. Uniform heating helps reduce areas with poor adhesion and ensures reliable bonding even on large transferables.
Temperature can be adjusted in precise 1 °C increments, making it easier to adapt the press settings to the needs of various transfer materials.
Made for Diverse Transfer Materials
The WonderPress can be used for common heat transfer processes, including HTV, sublimation, and DTF transfer. The combination of adjustable temperature, time, and pressure allows the machine to be configured for materials with very different processing requirements.
In apparel applications, uniform heat and pressure help promote consistent bonding across the entire transfer surface, instead of concentrating force or temperature only in one part of the design.


Tested for Durable DTF Transfers
In tests conducted by xTool Lab, DTF transfers made with the WonderPress withstood over 50 industrial wash cycles without peeling. xTool attributes the result to the combination of uniform heat, consistent pressure, and precise process control, which help create a consistent bond across the entire transfer surface.
Extra Clearance for Thicker Objects
The heat press module provides up to 75 mm of vertical clearance. This allows the machine to accommodate thicker workpieces than conventional automatic presses with reduced clearance and expands the range of objects that can be placed under the platen.
Three Modules, Different Workflows
The WonderPress is built around interchangeable modules. The available functions therefore depend on the modules included in your selected package or purchased separately.
- Heat Press Module: Automatic heat press for flat-surface transfer applications, including HTV, sublimation, and DTF.
- 3D Form Module: Adds 3D sublimation and vacuum thermoforming workflows.
- Craft Oven Module: Supports DTF curing, as well as some craft heating and baking applications.
Modules can be swapped without tools or screws. The WonderPress automatically recognizes the attached module and adapts the available controls and presets accordingly.
3D Sublimation with the 3D Form Module
When equipped with the optional 3D Form module, the WonderPress can use vacuum sublimation to conform printed sublimation film to curved, three-dimensional surfaces. xTool lists applications such as phone cases, badges, and keycaps as examples of objects that can be decorated with this workflow.
The object must have a suitable sublimation coating or be made from a compatible polymer, and 3D sublimation requires an appropriate mold or jig to hold the object during the process.
Vacuum Thermoforming with the 3D Form Module
The same 3D Form module can also be used for vacuum thermoforming. The system heats a forming sheet and shapes it around a mold via an integrated vacuum pump, allowing users to create custom plastic shapes without the need for a separate external vacuum system.
An infrared sensor monitors the temperature of the forming sheet in real-time to help identify the correct point in the heating process for forming.
Object geometry is important during vacuum thermoforming. Shapes with appropriate draft angles are easier to release, while undercuts, side holes, and overhangs can trap the formed sheet. Objects placed in the module during heating must also withstand temperatures up to 100 °C. For heat-sensitive masters, xTool recommends heating the sheet first and placing the object just before the thermoforming process begins.
DTF Curing and Craft Heating with the Craft Oven Module
With the optional Craft Oven module installed, the WonderPress can add a dedicated curing step to the DTF workflow. After curing, the Heat Press module can be used for the transfer step, allowing the same modular platform to handle two key stages of DTF production when both modules are available.
The Craft Oven includes a three-stage filtration system consisting of an H11 filter, an activated carbon filter, and an H13 HEPA filter. The filters are replaceable and are designed to reduce fumes, vapors, and odors generated during DTF curing.
The oven is also compatible with some craft heating processes, such as plastic shrinking and polymer clay baking. Its internal volume measures approximately 386.1 x 157.5 x 78.7 mm.
Tool-Free Module Changes
Changing the WonderPress's workflow requires no tools or screws. The modules are designed to be swapped directly, and the machine automatically recognizes the installed module. This allows a single platform to be used for different processes without needing a completely separate machine for each supported workflow.
Smart Controls and Presets
The WonderPress uses a rotary control paired with a 1.8-inch display to set process parameters directly on the machine. Depending on the installed module and operating mode, the interface allows control over parameters such as temperature, pressure, and time.
The system can store up to 35 presets for supported module workflows. The WonderPress filters available presets based on the currently installed module, helping to keep the interface focused on the relevant process.
The xTool app can also be used to access verified settings and adjust processing parameters, offering an additional way to configure the machine for your most used materials and workflows.
A Platform That Can Grow With Your Projects
The modular design allows the WonderPress to cater to different user types without every configuration requiring the use of all modules. A configuration focused on the Heat Press module can handle common heat transfer jobs, while adding the 3D Form module opens up 3D sublimation and thermoforming. The Craft Oven module further expands the system, enabling DTF curing and some craft-specific heat-forming processes.
This modular approach also makes the WonderPress suitable for workflows involving other fabrication equipment. Laser-cut or 3D-printed objects can, for example, be used as components or molds in subsequent forming and finishing processes with the appropriate WonderPress module.
