Why use a filament dryer?

3D printing filaments have a tendency to absorb moisture from their surroundings, and some materials are more sensitive than others. This high moisture absorption can lead to problems during the extrusion process, such as clogging and poor adhesion of the object to the print surface, as well as various quality issues in the final 3D printed product. Filament dryers are devices that remove excess moisture from the filament using heat or heat and desiccant.

Print while drying

SUNLU FilaDryer S4 has a design size of 458mm x 218mm x 312mm. It can hold up to 4 rolls of 1kg filament. In addition, it is equipped with eight filament holes and PTFE tubes, which meet users' demands for drying multiple filaments and printing simultaneously during drying with multiple printers.

High compatibility

The FilaDryer S4 by Sunlu is designed to dry a wide range of materials, from PLA (also wood/marble/silk), ASA, ABS, PA, PC, PETG, HIPS or TPU. The most outstanding feature of the FilaDryer S4 is that it can hold 4 spools of 1kg filament and can work with filaments of 1.75mm, 2.85mm and 3.00mm in diameter.

More than efficiency

SUNLU FilaDryer S4 is equipped with PTC heating element and triple fan configuration and therefore demonstrates higher heating efficiency by being able to heat up to 70°C in a shorter period of time. The PTC heater boasts a heating power of 330W, 6.9 times more powerful than SUNLU FilaDryer S2.

The integration of PTC heating element and two-level temperature control safety switch design provides a double protection system. In addition, the surface of the coil is equipped with a high temperature resistant PTFE tube to prevent problems caused by high temperature exposure, effectively offsetting the risk of slight coil deformation that may cause rotation interruption. Our design maintains a safe temperature range that effectively reduces heat transmission to the casing surface.

Humidity management

In addition to providing the ideal heat conditions for drying filament, the FilaDryer S4 also regulates the humidity levels of the chamber. The device effectively removes the moisture generated through eight filament holes on its frame.

The FilaDryer S4 is equipped with a precise humidity sensor that displays the current humidity level inside the dryer when it is not in use. Once the humidity reaches or exceeds 50%, the FilaDryer will automatically turn on to prevent any further exposure to humidity.

LCD Touchscreen

The FilaDryer S4 features a large LCD touchscreen located on the front of the unit for easy access. This touchscreen provides a quick 1-second response time and displays important information such as temperature, time, humidity, material type, and countdown time. Users can adjust the drying temperature within the range of 35-70°C.
