PrimaSELECT PP was developed with high optical transparency. Transparency does not affect mechanical properties. PrimaSELECT PP has excellent layer adhesion. PrimaSELECT PP is one of the materials when it comes to prototyping and end-user products. Polypropylene is one of the most used plastic materials in the world. PP thus convinces with its high toughness and fatigue resistance. PrimaSELECT PP has good heat resistance up to over 100°C. Furthermore, the material is also resistant to most chemicals and acids, including strong industrial cleaners. Prima SELECT PP has a high electrical resistance. PP is insensitive to humidity. Due to the low density of the material, the finished 3D prints are very light.

The PP filament is dishwasher and microwave safe

Another argument in favor of PrimaSELECT PP is that the material is dishwasher and microwave safe. This opens up use in a wide range of applications for this exciting material. PrimaSELECT PP is also fully FDA approved and complies with EU Regulation no. 1935/2004 on materials. This regulates materials that come into contact with food.

Requirements to 3D print PP

PrimaSELECT PP does not adhere well to normal surfaces such as BuildTak, glass or PEI coatings. The best way to make PrimaSELECT PP adhere well is to use normal packing tape or polypropylene film. A heated building platform is also needed. We recommend using a 3D printer with an enclosed build space. If you are making smaller models additively, you can also do this on your open 3D printer.

PP 3D printing nozzle

It is possible to work PrimaSELECT PP with a conventional nozzle. No special nozzle is required.
