Printing Tips:
Printing with TPU requires some precautions to obtain the best results:
- Printing Temperature: Generally between 220°C and 240°C. It is advisable to run tests to find the optimal temperature for your specific printer.
- Heated Bed: A heated bed, with temperatures between 40°C and 60°C, is usually recommended to improve the adhesion of the first layer.
- Slow Print Speed: Slow printing (often between 20-40 mm/s) is crucial to avoid clogging and ensure smooth extrusion, due to the flexibility of the material.
- Minimal or No Retraction: Retraction can cause TPU jams. If possible, set it to a minimum or disable it.
- Direct Drive Extrusion System: Printers with direct drive extruders are generally preferable for printing TPU, as they reduce the filament path and the risk of kinking.
