Filamento Spectrum HIPS-X 1.75mm NOIR PROFOND 1kg (RAL 9017)

Spectrum HIPS-X (High Impact Polystyrene X) filament has many of the same characteristics as ABS, but exhibits superior hardness and impact resistance in comparison.

High impact resistance

Spectrum HIPS–X is a support material designed for additive manufacturing for FDM/FFF technology. It is usually used as a support for components made with ABS, where HIPS-X supports are dissolved D–Limonene at the end of the manufacturing process. Additionally, you can use Spectrum HIPS–X as a base material for manufacturing components that require little processing shrinkage compared to ABS.

Spectrum HIPS-X exhibits high impact and compression resistance. It also allows you to obtain opaque surfaces with reduced visibility of the layer. Just like ABS, HIPS-X allows mechanical treatments such as grinding, turning, milling etc. The low hardness of molded items makes it easier to separate sections of material with sharp tools.

Primarily used as a support material, Spectrum HIPS–X is also designed for industrial applications requiring impact-resistant components or components with partial energy dissipation capability. Due to its low hardness, HIPS–X can be used in the arts, particularly sculpture.

Packaging

The filament is wound on the spool neat and transparent. Each spool contains information on the type of material, diameter and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum packaged with a moisture absorber. The entire product is packaged in the original Spectrum Filaments film-lined packaging.
