Manual and Automatic Deployment

Self-Check and Notifications

DJI AP100 continuously monitors the status of the gas generator and communication links, displaying any warnings through the DJI Pilot 2 HMS interface. After deployment, the system activates audible and visual alerts for approximately one hour, useful for signaling the area and facilitating drone recovery.

Backup Power and FTS

When fully charged, the parachute offers a backup power duration of approximately one hour. The system also integrates independent links for rotor control and shutdown, with support for FTS functions in compatible regions and configurations indicated by DJI.

Important Operational Notes

The DJI AP100 is a supplementary safety device: it reduces, but does not completely eliminate, the risk of damage to the drone, payloads, property, or people on the ground. After deployment, the parachute must be completely replaced; DJI also recommends replacing the product 3 years after activation.

With AP100 installed, DJI Matrice 400 automatically disables the lower and rear mmWave radars to ensure unobstructed parachute deployment and avoid erroneous obstacle detection activations. The operator must therefore pay particular attention to the flight environment, manually avoid obstacles, and always comply with laws, local regulations, and operational procedures.
