Our 0.6mm nozzle X Hotend is made from a special tool steel alloy and opens up a whole new world of industrial applications. When paired with the BCN3D Epsilon 3D printer, it enables printing with fiber-reinforced materials, allowing you to create stiffer parts for the most demanding jobs. This hotend is extremely durable, yet retains its hardness even at high temperatures without softening.
The Hotend X is only compatible with the Epsilon W50 and Epsilon W27. It is the ideal hotend for printing with BCN3D PP GF30, PAHT CF15 and PET CF15 fiber reinforced materials.
Standard hotends use brass nozzles, designed for use with soft filaments like PLA, ABS, PP, etc. But nowadays the 3D printing industry requires other materials with new properties, which is why fiber materials have become a must.
The downside? These materials are much more abrasive, literally acting like metal files when extruded through the nozzle. As you'll see, you don't need to print many meters of these filaments to start causing irreparable damage to your brass hotends.

These photos were taken after printing just 250g of carbon fiber-filled filament using a brand new 0.4mm brass nozzle. You can compare the wear on the X hotend after printing 2.5kg of various carbon fiber-filled and glass fiber-filled materials, as shown in the "right-side hotend" image. Ten times the amount of material (250g) printed by the brass nozzle on the left.
The pictures are self-explanatory: the brass nozzle tip has worn away, shortening the overall length of the nozzle, which will undoubtedly cause calibration issues. The nozzle tip has also been rounded into a dome shape due to abrasion.
