The xTool P2S 55W desktop CO2 laser cutter is a powerful and efficient machine designed for high-precision engraving and cutting. With its 55W CO2 laser, this model stands out as one of the most robust desktop laser cutters available, ensuring superior performance on a variety of materials.

One of the key features of the xTool P2S is its exceptional engraving speed, reaching up to 600 mm/s. This high efficiency is complemented by dual HD cameras, which enable precise material positioning. The machines' autofocus system, powered by DistiMaster Ranging technology, ensures an impressive level of accuracy of 0.0254 mm, making it easier to achieve complex and detailed work. Furthermore, the xTool P2S's enclosed design promotes a safe operating environment.

The laser cutter also features 3D Curve™ Engraving technology, allowing you to engrave on curved surfaces, adding versatility to your creative projects. For larger materials, the AutoPassthrough™ feature accommodates lengths up to 2997 mm, providing flexibility for working with extended designs. The 660 mm x 356 mm bed provides ample space for most projects, while the maximum working height is 71 mm, extendable to 215 mm with the optional lifting base.

Comparison with xTool P2

The xTool P2S builds on the capabilities of the xTool P2, offering several key improvements for even greater precision and efficiency. While both models are designed for high-quality engraving and cutting, the P2S features a more powerful exhaust fan with a nominal airflow of 396 m³/h (dual blades at 14,000 RPM) compared to the P2's 246 m³/h (single blade at 7,000 RPM). Additionally, the P2S's air pump pressure reaches 200 kPa with dual cylinders, significantly exceeding the P2's 150 kPa single-cylinder system.

The P2S also boasts an optical path indicator and supports 3D cylinder engraving, features not available on the P2. Additionally, the P2S's X-axis acceleration is a staggering 6,400 m/s², doubling the P2's speed to 3,200 m/s², allowing for faster project processing. For users working on repetitive tasks, the P2S offers batch processing with different projects, providing greater workflow flexibility.

In terms of maintenance, the P2S introduces intuitive features such as the quick release button, filter screen and error-proof mirror, making daily maintenance easier than the P2 model.

Class 1 vs. Class 4

Both the P2S Class 1 and P2S Class 4 use the same powerful 55W CO₂ laser. The difference lies in the safety design of the machine and how the laser beam is managed during operation:

• P2S Class 1 – The laser is completely enclosed, with a sealed housing and safety interlocks on the cover and base plate. If the cover is opened or the base plate is removed, the laser automatically shuts down. This ensures that, under normal operating conditions, there is no leakage of laser radiation, making the machine safe to use in classrooms, offices, and shared environments without the need for protective eyewear.
• P2S Class 4 – Although equipped with the same laser, this version does not completely enclose the beam. When the cover is opened or the base plate is removed during operation, scattered laser radiation may escape. For this reason, strict safety precautions are required, including protective eyewear, limited access, and controlled environments.

In short: Class 1 offers the same cutting and engraving performance as Class 4, but with a fully enclosed design that prioritizes safety and ease of use.
