PrimaSelect NylonPower Carbon Fiber is the latest generation of high-performance 3D printer filaments. The material is based on nylon 12 and reinforced with 20% carbon fiber. This composition results in an exceptionally strong filament.

PrimaSelect NylonPower Carbon Fiber – The latest generation of high-performance filaments for your 3D printer.

PrimaSelect NylonPower Carbon Fiber is part of the latest generation of high-performance filaments for your 3D printer. The filament is based on nylon 12 and is reinforced with 20% carbon fiber. This composition results in an exceptionally strong material. This nylon-carbon filament is perfect for additive manufacturing of automotive components, drone construction, and RC parts.

Material Properties PrimaSelect NylonPower Carbon Fiber:

  • High chemical and thermal resistance
  • Excellent surface quality
  • Less warping than regular nylon
  • Easy to 3D print
  • Creates very strong parts

3D printing of highly resistant parts in NylonPower and carbon fiber

PrimaSelect NylonPower carbon fiber is an extremely useful material with unique properties. This filament reinforces the nylon with finely chopped carbon fiber strands. PrimaSelect NylonPower filament offers incredible stiffness, structure, and excellent layer adhesion.

NylonPower filament with carbon is easy to work with

NylonPower is also very easy to work with and has a matte finish. Perfect 3D prints are very stiff and rigid, making them ideal if you need an object with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. To process PrimaSelect NylonPower filament, use a heated 3D print bed set to 60˚C to ensure good first layer adhesion to the build platform.

Work NylonPower carbon fiber with a steel nozzle

Due to the highly abrasive properties of PrimaSelect NylonPower (the nozzle wears quickly due to abrasion), we recommend using a hardened steel nozzle for this filament. Using a standard brass nozzle isn't a problem, but the nozzle will wear out quickly.

PrimaSelect NylonPower adheres to spray adhesive or glass coated with a suitable PA adhesive.

PrimaSelect NylonPower carbon fiber material properties:

  • Weight and Spool: Each spool contains 500 grams of high-quality filament. NylonPower is packaged on a clear spool with a strong desiccant to prevent moisture.
  • Perfect diameter tolerance: NylonPower filament is controlled throughout the production process. This ensures a filament with a diameter tolerance of +/- 0.05 mm.
  • Perfect Spool: We've gone to great lengths to make every filament spool perfect. This ensures the filament doesn't get tangled on the spool.
  • Easy 3D printing: Carbon fibers mixed with nylon make this material very easy to work with on most 3D printers. We recommend a hardened nozzle.

Tips and tricks for processing PrimaSelect NylonPower with carbon fibers on your 3D printer

Find tips and tricks for processing PrimaSelect NylonPower with carbon fiber on your 3D printer here.

Keep nylon and carbon filament away from moisture

The carbon fibers in PrimaSelect NylonPower reduce the amount of water that can be absorbed. However, for optimal processing, care must be taken to keep the filament away from moisture and protect it.

To do this, you should store PrimaCreator NylonPower in a dry place immediately after unpacking. The filament comes in a vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant to ensure your first 3D print is a success right away and you get perfect results.

If it's been exposed to moisture, we strongly recommend drying your NylonPower carbon fiber filament before 3D printing. Simply place the entire spool in the oven at 80°C for 5-7 hours. This will dry the spool and you can start a new 3D print.

Optimal processing temperature of PrimaSelect NylonPower

PrimaSelect NylonPower requires an extruder temperature of 250-265°C for optimal extrusion. This NylonPower filament can be processed on most 3D printers. However, we strongly recommend using an all-metal extruder for higher temperatures. PrimaSelect NylonPower carbon fiber filament can also be processed at lower temperatures. However, keep in mind that at lower temperatures, you won't achieve the same strength in your finished parts.

The filament contains carbon fibers, which makes it very abrasive for the nozzle. We highly recommend using a hardened steel nozzle for this filament, as a standard brass nozzle will be worn away by the nylon filament in no time.

Larger 0.6 or 0.8 mm nozzles produce very durable 3D prints and reduce the risk of clogging. However, it can also be used with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

NylonPower carbon fiber does not adhere well to PEI, BuildTak, or similar surfaces. Glass is the best surface for use with Magigoo, PrintaFix, PVA glue sticks, or other adhesives. Turn off the fan when 3D printing with NylonPower.
