This special family provides unique Polymaker filaments to unlock new 3D printing applications.
PolyWood
PolyWood™ is made entirely of PLA using a special foaming technology. It has the same density and appearance as wood. PolyWood™ is a wood-like filament without real wood dust, which eliminates all risks of nozzle clogging.
Since polywood does not contain any wood, any color can be combined with the material. The printed parts have a stunning surface finish and visual layering is minimized. Other colors and materials are already in development.
Polywood™ is the only 3D printable foam to date. The density of Polywood is on average 0.8 g/cm3, which is about 35-40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component has a lower weight.
Recommended settings
- Nozzle temperature: 190˚C – 210˚C
- Printing speed: 30mm/s – 50mm/s
- Bed temperature: 25˚C – 60˚C
- Bed surface: glass with glue, blue tape, BuilTak®
- Cooling fan: on
