MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is a heated tool with specially coated, replaceable tips designed for finishing, repairing, and modifying 3D printed parts. MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is designed to replace much of the sanding, scraping, and breaking required to finish 3D prints.

The pen-like shape of the MODIFI3D ORIGINAL makes it very comfortable to use and extremely easy to control when precision is important. The MODIFI3D ORIGINAL works with PLA, ABS, and other 3D printing materials.

Knife tip

Cutting and removing sections, including supports, edges, and rafts, from 3D prints. Includes a special coating to prevent plastic from sticking to the tip.

Needle tip

Ideal for cleaning small holes and details, or for finishing paint layers in hard-to-reach areas. It includes a special coating to prevent plastic from sticking to the tip.

Tip Tip

Multipurpose tip for larger holes and interior details. Can also be used for post-printing! Includes a special coating to prevent plastic from sticking to the tip.

Spoon tip

Perfect for removing lint and imperfections from holes or cavities. Can also be used for blending surfaces. Includes a special coating to prevent plastic from sticking to the tip.

How to use

• Remove the protective cap (if used) and place MODIFI3D ORIGINAL on the included stand.
• Connect the USB cable (USB 2.0 or 3.0 is recommended).
• Touch the metal switch to start heating. A red light indicates that MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is on.
• In less than 15 seconds, MODIFI3D ORIGINAL will reach approximately 300°C (572°F) and is ready to use. To increase the temperature or reach the maximum of 420-450°C (788-842°F), continue touching the metal switch until the desired temperature is reached.
• If MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is not used for 25 seconds, it will enter sleep mode (the light will turn off and the tip will begin to cool). To wake MODIFI3D ORIGINAL, simply gently touch the switch and the heating process will continue.

How to clean original MODIFI3D tips

Over time, you may want to clean the interchangeable tips. We recommend using a damp sponge to remove any plastic residue or debris from the tips. This method works best when the tips are still warm (but obviously not hot enough to pose a burn risk). Make sure the USB port is unplugged and the tips have cooled to a safe temperature.

Do not use abrasive products for cleaning. They could damage the special coating on the tips.
