Spectrum PC/PTFE Filament
Resistance to high temperatures and abrasion
Spectrum PC/PTFE is an advanced composite filament based on polycarbonate (PC) with the addition of PTFE, commonly known as Teflon. The high demand and limited availability of additive manufacturing materials with excellent mechanical properties, particularly high abrasion resistance, have led to efforts to combine the excellent properties of PC and PTFE. PC offers high mechanical strength, while PTFE complements other properties by reducing wear and friction.
The applied modifications ensure improved thermal stability of the printed parts, greater electrical insulation, and greater chemical and water resistance. Thanks to its properties, Spectrum PC/PTFE filament is a material suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. Materials printed with PC/PTFE filament can be mechanically processed to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. Using this type of material allows for the production of parts with relatively complex geometries while maintaining relatively high dimensional accuracy.
To achieve the excellent technical properties of Spectrum PC/PTFE, it is necessary to follow the basic storage rules for these materials (in a dry, dark place with humidity below 15%). To achieve the best possible parameters for the printed object, it is recommended to dry the material before processing.
Tip: It is recommended to print using a heated chamber.
Main features:
- low processing shrinkage (linear) approximately 0.6%
- Heat deflection temperature (HDT) - 140°C
- Vicat softening point - 145°C
- UL 94 flammability rating (3.0 mm) - V1
- electrical resistance 1E12 Ohm
- static friction coefficient - 0.18
- coefficient of dynamic friction - 0.14
- high abrasion resistance
- high mechanical resistance
- very strong lamination of the layers
Applications:
- production of low-friction parts
- production of parts that provide thermal, electrical and heat insulation
- production of low-load gears and transmission elements
- manufacturing tools used to assemble components during the manufacturing process of
- end-use parts
- functional prototyping
Packaging
The filament is wound on a clear, neat spool. Each spool contains information about the material type, diameter, and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber. The entire product is packaged in the original Spectrum Filaments packaging, lined with aluminum foil.
