PLA is the most popular type of 3D filament, likely because it's one of the easiest 3D filaments to print and doesn't warp easily, so it doesn't require a heating pad (although heating it is certainly helpful). Another advantage of using PLA is that it's considered an odorless filament and is more environmentally friendly than many other 3D printer filaments.

This seems like a perfect 3D filament, but just like any other plastic, it has some disadvantages. PLA has low-temperature resistance and will begin to lose mechanical strength above 60°C. It's also important to remember that this filament is fragile, so avoid making 3D models with PLA that might bend, twist, or fall repeatedly. Instead, use it for 3D models such as decorations, low-wear toys, prototype parts, and containers.

While our PLA filament is made from food-safe materials, we don't recommend eating or drinking frequently while using your 3D prints, as bacteria can build up over time.
