30% Glass Fiber Reinforced, Heat Stabilized Co-polyamide

Spectrum PA6 GF30 is another product in our range of technical Nylon 6-based composite materials. This time, we opted for a glass fiber filler, which is gaining great success when used as an additive to modify the properties of plastics. The use of this type of filler is typically applied to increase mechanical refinement in terms of tensile and compressive strength.

When choosing the ingredients for the composite, we wanted to fully exploit the potential of glass fibers as a performance-enhancing additive, which is why we decided to opt for an uncompromising blend with up to 30% glass fiber content. As with almost all types of polymer-glass composites, we used a functionalized version of the fibers with a less aggressive geometry, reducing printer nozzle degradation.

Spectrum PA6 GF30 is a filament designed for users who focus more on high mechanical performance, high hardness, and heat resistance for their models. Due to the high fiber content, this filament exhibits very low processing shrinkage. It is interesting to note that in terms of thermal resistance, Spectrum PA6 GF30 filament is not inferior to the HDT properties - 180 °C (0.45 MPa) of the carbon fiber-filled version, which places it among the high-end materials dedicated to desktop 3D printers.

Key Features:

  • 30% glass fibers
  • high mechanical properties and abrasion resistance
  • excellent chemical resistance
  • HDT thermal resistance - 180°C (0.45 MPa)
  • printable on desktop devices without a heated chamber
  • matte, carbonized print surface
  • perfect layer adhesion

Applications:

  • functional prototypes,
  • production tools
  • working components of tools and machinery - rotors, gears
  • guides, racks, guide rollers
  • production of protective rings and plates with increased chemical and corrosion resistance

Packaging

The filament is wound on a transparent, neat spool. Each spool contains information about the material type, diameter, and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber. The entire product is packaged in original Spectrum Filaments packaging, sealed with protective film.
