BLACK PANTHER X (Model BPX)
The BLACK PANTHER X (BPX) is an advanced quadruped robot for Embodied AI, designed for developers, STEM/K12 education, and research projects.
Key Features:
- Modular Ecosystem and Real Construction: Composed of over 500 industrial-grade components made of high-strength aluminum alloy and engineering plastics, it offers an authentic mechanical engineering experience with 1:1 modular assembly.
- Performance and Agility: Inherits technology from Guinness World Record-holding robots. Equipped with high-performance joints with a peak torque of approximately 33 N·m, it reaches speeds of up to 4.0 m/s, climbs slopes of up to 30°, and overcomes obstacles up to 20 cm in height.
- Advanced Power Unit and Battery Life: Equipped with a high energy density battery pack manufactured by Ganfeng Electronics with 167 Wh nominal (~178 Wh typical), it guarantees up to 1.5 hours of continuous operation. Thermal management and output stability allow for support of peaks of up to 20 A for the most demanding maneuvers.
- Secondary Development and Hardware Compatibility: Offers full access to native SDK, CAD/URDF models, and support for simulation and development environments such as ROS 2, Gazebo, and NVIDIA Isaac Sim. It supports the integration of external hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, LiDAR sensors, and depth cameras.
- Versatile Control and Interfaces: Can be controlled via the dedicated BAOBOT app (iOS and Android), an optional USB gamepad, or radio controllers via a calibratable SBUS port. It also features Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and power outputs.
- Smart Movements and Functions: Supports advanced gaits (Walk, Bound, Pace, Pronk) and acrobatics (Left/Right Flip), as well as automatic recovery after a fall (Recovery) and soft emergency stop.

Key details about the battery (previously omitted or to be highlighted)
Integration of Samsung Industrial Cells
The battery uses Samsung SDI INR18650-35E cells in an 8S2P configuration (8 series, 2 parallel). This is a premium choice for the robotics sector: these cells offer high energy density in a compact format, guaranteeing the typical capacity of 6.2 Ah while keeping the battery pack under 1.8 kg (representing approximately 11.6% of the robot's total weight).
Power Peak Engineering
While the standard charge/discharge current is set to a conservative value of 1.16 A (to extend cell life cycle), the battery pack is capable of delivering up to 20 A continuous discharge. This energy reserve is critical to cover the peak power consumption required by the 12 33 N·m joints during acrobatic maneuvers, fast gaits (4.0 m/s), or performing jumps (Flips).
Outdoor Resistance and Thermal Range
The operating discharge range (from -10 °C to +50 °C) confirms the robot's intended use for field testing in real-world environments, not just in the laboratory. In terms of chemical composition, the use of NMC technology (29% Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) guarantees the best compromise between thermal balance, torque delivery, and chemical stability.
Compliance for Air Shipments and Safety Standards
The battery is tested according to UN 38.3 (Test T.1 – T.8) standards and is classified as UN 3480 (Class 9). This means the battery pack passes rigorous impact, crush, overcharge, and external short-circuit tests, allowing for safe air freight transport without bureaucratic hurdles for laboratories or universities purchasing the robot abroad.
