BlueCast X-Wax Filigree - Advanced Castable Resin for Filigrees and Complex Designs
BlueCast X-Wax Filigree is the most advanced castable resin in the BlueCast range, developed specifically for filigree projects, Arabic motifs and ultra-delicate jewellery requiring absolute dimensional stability , high precision , ease of printing , smooth surfaces and Excellent casting properties . This resin complements, not replaces, X-Wax Standard: each resin meets specific needs and excels in different applications.

Comparison with X-Wax Standard
There X-Wax Classic , made with 80% real melting wax , offers unparalleled melting quality. X-Wax Filigree , on the other hand, is designed for excellent printability , making it ideal for thin jewels and light designs . Its exceptionally smooth surface and high precision make X-Wax Filigree a revolutionary solution for the micro-casting of complex Arabic or filigree-style motifs.
Distinctive Features
- Ideal for printing services : superior durability compared to wax models, allowing easy and safe shipments in large quantities without special precautions
- Effortless Media Removal : Media comes off cleanly, leaving smooth, intact surfaces
- High precision details : Formulated to avoid resin smudging, ensuring extremely sharp details and crisp edges
- Universal Compatibility : Fully compatible with all LCD and DLP 3D printing platforms
- Improved user experience : reduced odors and minimal emissions during both printing and combustion
- Simplified post-treatment : a simple alcohol rinse is sufficient; short UV exposure is mandatory for optimal casting quality
- Safe to use : Made of non-hazardous materials for a safer working environment
- Uncompromising precision : Print extreme watermark patterns with zero risk of banding, warping or cracking
- Improved durability : X-Wax Filigree designs offer superior durability over wax-stamped alternatives
- Metal Save : Smoother, more detailed surfaces with superior finish and minimal polishing required
- Print speed : up to 5 times faster compared to traditional wax printers
- Low initial investment : Print wax-based resin without the expensive investment in traditional wax 3D printers
Ideal Applications
X-Wax Filigree is perfect for:
- Arabic and traditional filigrees with ultra-thin geometries
- Delicate rings with thin walls and micro-settings
- Light and intricate jewelry
- 3D printing services and professional casting laboratories
- Micropavé and extremely fine details
- Designs that require absolute dimensional stability over time
Technical Specifications
Certifications and Safety
The resin complies with the Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) and to the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) . The complete safety data sheet (revision 02/02/2024) highlights:
- Classification : Not classified as hazardous according to the CLP Regulation
- Important Note : Although not classified as hazardous, still use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Precautions : P280 (Wear protective gloves/clothing/eyes), P302+P352 (If on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water)
- Disposal : European waste code 08 01 99
- Components : Oligomeric acrylates (30-50%), Monomeric acrylates (30-50%), TPO photoinitiator (1-2.5%, CAS 75980-60-8)
- Reduced emissions : Minimal odors and emissions during printing and burnout
Post-Print Procedure (MANDATORY)
Cleaning :
-
Wash the prints in IPA alcohol for 3 minutes
-
Blow with compressed air to remove excess uncured resin
-
Perform a second wash in clean IPA alcohol for 2 minutes , then dry with compressed air
-
For thorough cleaning, use 3D washing stations or ultrasonic cleaners
Post-Curing UV :
5. Run a cycle of UV polymerization for at least 10 minutes : OBLIGATORY to ensure optimum casting quality
6. Let the models rest for at least 15-20 minutes before assembling the casting tree
Important note : The high wax content of X-Wax Filigree does not compromise rigidity or structural integrity during printing. Brief exposure to UV light after printing further improves the strength of delicate models, preserving their finest details and precision.
Microfusion
- Standard Burnout (12 hours): Compatible with any type of coating
- Quick burnout (6 hours): Rapid fusion without compromise
- Ultra-fast burnout (2 hours): ideal for urgent productions
Fusion Tips :
- X-Wax Filigree offers reliable casting, but its real strength lies in its excellent printability and precision, ideal for lightweight and thin-walled components
- If optimum melting performance is your top priority, X-Wax Standard remains the best choice for melting quality comparable to that of pure wax.
- Mandatory UV post-curing to ensure optimal casting quality
Why Choose X-Wax Filigree?
X-Wax Filigree is the revolutionary solution for those who work with extreme filigrees, Arabic motifs and ultra-delicate jewellery . Unlike X-Wax Standard (unbeatable for pure casting), X-Wax Filigree excels in printability, dimensional stability and perfect surfaces .
It is the ideal choice for 3D printing service , professional goldsmith workshops And designer that require models resistant to shipping , easy to clean , precise to the micron and with "metal-saving" surfaces which drastically reduce post-fusion polishing.
