BCN3D Omega Proto
Technical filament for functional prototyping
Omega Proto is a technical filament developed for creating functional prototypes, components for industrial applications, and parts intended for dimensional, mechanical, and assembly verifications. The material combines good robustness, durability, chemical resistance, and high surface quality, offering an effective balance between performance, ease of printing, and post-processing possibilities.
Compared to more common prototyping materials, Omega Proto is designed to offer superior performance to PLA in terms of strength, greater ease of use compared to ABS, and a more refined surface finish than PETG. The adhesion between layers also contributes to achieving more uniform and structurally reliable components.
The formulation is primarily based on a copolyester and polyethylene terephthalate, with functional additives. The product is intended exclusively for use with the BCN3D Omega I60 printer and the dedicated Omega Hotend Tip 0.4 HR nozzle.
Final performance depends on geometry, print orientation, process parameters, environmental conditions, and post-processing. For critical or product liability applications, user testing and validation are recommended.
Key advantages
- Material suitable for functional prototyping and small-series production.
- Good robustness and durability for components intended for ordinary use conditions.
- Chemical resistance suitable for numerous technical applications.
- High surface quality and uniformity, with a matte appearance.
- Good adhesion between layers and reliable interlayer bonds.
- Easier to manage than ABS in compatible applications.
- Suitable for machining and finishing after printing.
- Professional 2.5 kg format, designed to reduce spool changes during work cycles.
- Optimized compatibility with the BCN3D Omega I60 ecosystem.
