The Arduino Nano is a breadboard-ready version integrated with a USB port. It has more or less the same functionality as the Arduino Duemilanove, but in a different package. It automatically selects the power source. It uses an ATMEGA328 processor that has 32 kB of memory for the program. It features 14 digital inputs/outputs (6 of which can be used as PWM outputs), 8 analog inputs, and a 16 MHz oscillator. It lacks a power jack and is programmed via a mini USB cable.

  • The newly purchased board cannot be programmed via USB
    This is due to a bootloader update. Since a major update was made to the bootloader, the IDE cannot program the board; therefore, it is necessary to update "Arduino AVR Boards" to the latest version from your board manager. Once the update is complete, select "ATmega328P" as the processor type instead of "ATmega328P (Old Bootloader)".
