Polymaker Panchroma™ PLA Silk

Panchroma™ PLA Silk is a high-gloss, silky PLA filament designed to offer a shiny, "metallic" finish with the same ease of use as standard PLA. It's an evolution of the previous PolyLite™ Silk PLA: a new, more reliable formula with improved layer adhesion, fewer breakages, and less risk of clogging, all while maintaining an extremely smooth and shiny surface.

The Panchroma™ PLA Silk series is designed to maximize aesthetic impact: the filament produces prints with a silky texture, glossy effect, and soft reflections that visually reduce layer lines. It's available in a wide range of solid and vibrant colors (Chrome, Gold, Bronze, Purple, Gunmetal Grey, Gradient/dual silk, etc.), perfect for decorative models, display pieces, cosplay, gadgets, and any project where look is a priority.

Thanks to the new Panchroma formulation, PLA Silk prints cleanly and reliably on any PLA-compatible FDM printer, without requiring special hardware. The formula has been optimized to maintain a silky sheen even at high speeds, overcoming one of the typical limitations of traditional silk PLAs, which tend to lose their brilliance as speed increases.

Note: like all silk PLAs, it is primarily intended for aesthetic models; it is not suitable for high-load structural parts.

Technical Specifications

• Material: PLA Silk (formerly PolyLite™ Silk PLA).
• Filament diameter: 1.75 mm (typical tolerance ±0.03 mm).
• Density: approximately 1.2 g/cm³ (indicative value, with slight variations depending on color).
• Nozzle temperature: 190 – 230 °C (recommended to start around 200–210 °C and optimize based on printer).
• Bed temperature: 25 – 60 °C; can also be printed on a cold bed with adequate adhesion (smooth or textured PC/PEI, glue if necessary).
• Print speed: up to approximately 200–250 mm/s, depending on the machine and profile; maintains good brilliance even at high speeds.
• Cooling fan: active (typically 100%) for better detail definition and clean surfaces.
• Enclosed chamber: not necessary for most applications.
• Drying (if necessary): approximately 55 °C for a few hours in case of moisture absorption.
