Zortrax Apoller is an intelligent steam smoothing device that automatically smooths the visible layers of FFF/FDM-3D prints. This smart vaporizer works with both acetone and MEK. The leveling process is fully automated and controlled by intelligent proprietary algorithms. These precisely monitor and regulate the temperature, pressure and concentration of the solvent vapors in the Apoller at all times.

First, the model must be placed in the sanding chamber. Then the chamber is heated enough to evaporate the solvent inside the Apollo. The vapors are then spiraled upwards to evenly cover the component.

The solvent vapors condense on the surfaces of the object and leave a shiny or matte surface, depending on the filament used. After the sanding process is ready, Zortrax Apoller dries your 3D prints. Then they are ready to leave the room.

The entire weekly output of 4 typical FFF/FDM 3D printers can be automatically leveled in one day. The safety systems are designed to meet the strict requirements of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EC on the control of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Your models will need to be placed in a double sealed smoothing chamber of 300x250x250 mm. Settings are then selected via an intuitive touch screen. Once this is done, the Zortrax Apoller takes just 3 hours to evenly sand all the models in its chamber.

SVS technology

Zortrax Apoller's SVS technology is based on advanced proprietary algorithms that measure and control the temperature, pressure and concentration of solvent vapors in a double-sealed smoothing chamber. The pressure in the chamber is always kept below the ambient pressure. This prevents the escape of harmful vapors that could harm your health.

Quality and efficiency

The fumes inside the sanding chamber are circulated upwards to evenly coat your models. Even distribution of the fog ensures that all surfaces are evenly wetted and chemically smoothed. Once the smoothing process is complete, Zortrax Apoller lowers the temperature within the installation space, condenses the excess solvent and is returned to the tank. A 300ml bottle of acetone or MEK can be reused for multiple straightenings. This saves costs and conserves resources as much as possible.
