Snapmaker dual extrusion module
The Snapmaker Dual Extrusion module opens up new possibilities for your creativity, making it possible to print two different materials or colors at the same time. The module is compatible with Snapmaker 2.0 A350/F350/A250T/A250/F250/A150.
Combine materials
The module allows double extrusion and simultaneous processing of two different materials: for example, it is possible to combine PLA and TPU. Especially when support structures are needed, the Dual Extrusion module comes in handy. This is why the module works excellently with water-soluble PVA filament and leaves high-quality prints. The same goes for HIPS in combination with brittle PLA: you can use a little oil to remove it easier, but it's not necessary.
Multicolored print
Most 3D models are printed in a single color, but come to life thanks to different properties of the filaments such as shine, transparency, glitter or similar. With the dual extrusion module you can now take your creativity to a new level and print in multiple colors! This will create more depth, movement and of course uniqueness!
All the gears and ideas
The 7.5:1 planetary gears transmit the power from the motor with much greater torque, which allows us to use relatively small motors to achieve the necessary tractive force. The reduction of unnecessary weight will in turn result in much less vibration of the tool head at the same acceleration rate, thus maintaining the same printing accuracy as the single extrusion module.
Switching hotends with a motor
Switching between hotends is typically a rather time-consuming process on dual extrusion printers. Especially when you consider that there are two hotends on one tool head! The Snapmaker module comes in handy here as it is equipped with an electronically controlled 3s-Hotend-Switch. This switches with a motor, as follows: If the G-code tells you that the hotend needs to be changed, the motor asks the linear guide to do the heavy lifting. The hotend is replaced and printing resumes within 3 seconds, with repeatability of 0.012mm.
4 fan cooling system
Filament residue on a clogged nozzle is horrible! This problem should be solved with the Dual Extrusion Module since each hotend is equipped with its own special fan. The fan ensures that the filament does not melt into the heat sink too soon and thus clog the hotend. In addition to the hotend fans, the module has two other fans (left and right) for cooling prints.
Get smart with various nozzle sizes
To use your nozzles more intelligently, you can fine-tune the settings slightly with each nozzle size in Luban. If you want a print with flawless detail, print the shell at a slower speed with the 0.2mm nozzle hotend, so it's not only sturdy but also looks great on the outside. And if you want speed for a model rich in support structure, print the infill with hot ends with a 0.6 or 0.8 mm nozzle, because they are much faster.
Automatic leveling
Don't worry if you lose the calibration card as it is no longer needed. On your heated bed, from the first to the last point, the proximity sensor in the module captures data for each of them and it will be automatically processed by the controller. You don't need to worry about Z-height calibration either. The optoelectronic switch will do it for you.
Recovery of power loss and filament exhaustion
In case you're wondering, the dual extrusion module also supports power loss and filament runout recovery. Follow the touchscreen and all sorts of things will go right.
