Metrohub automates the entire scanning process and reduces the need for time-consuming manual operations. The Vbot 9 collaborative robot performs complex scanning movements with high precision and repeatability, making the system ideal for batch scanning, dimensional control, First Article Inspection (FAI), and automated production workflows.

With a working radius of 919 mm and a maximum payload of 5 kg, the Vbot 9 can efficiently handle a wide range of components. The combination of robotic automation and optical 3D scanning creates a stable workflow where the same measurement sequence can be repeated with consistent results.

Trackit 3D scanner for optical tracking

Metrohub uses the Revopoint Trackit optical tracking 3D scanner, an advanced measurement system developed for industrial metrology and high-precision scanning. Equipped with 30 crossed blue laser lines and a single blue laser line, the system captures up to 1,500,000 points per second and creates detailed point clouds for analysis and measurement.

Optical tracking technology eliminates the need to place markers directly on the part, simplifying preparation and reducing setup time before scanning begins. Trackit offers volumetric accuracy of up to 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m) and is suitable for any type of component, from small precision parts to large industrial workpieces.

Vbot 9 Cobot – Flexible robotic automation

The Vbot 9 collaborative robot arm is designed for automated 3D scanning and industrial workflows where precision and flexibility are essential. With six axes of motion, a 919 mm working radius, a 5 kg maximum payload, and ±0.03 mm repeatability, the robot is capable of executing advanced movements around complex geometries.

The Vbot 9 features integrated six-axis force sensors that monitor load and movement in real time. This allows the robot to react quickly to unexpected contact and contributes to a safer working environment when operating in close proximity to users.

Rapid installation with intelligent robot control

Metrohub is designed to simplify the implementation of automated 3D scanning in professional workspaces. Thanks to multiple flexible programming methods, operators can quickly create advanced scanning sequences without needing traditional robotic programming skills.

With Drag-to-Teach, the robot can be programmed by manually guiding it through the desired movements. CAD-to-Path allows for the creation of automated scanning paths directly from CAD models, while Vision-to-Path can be used to generate efficient motion paths based on visual data.

Automatic multi-position calibration simplifies installation and ensures high precision across the entire workspace. Combined with automatic path planning, these features create an efficient workflow for repeated measurements and serial inspections.

Safe human-robot collaboration

The Vbot 9 is designed as a collaborative robot (cobot) where safety and flexibility are key priorities. The integrated six-axis force sensors constantly monitor the robot's movement and load, allowing the system to react quickly to unexpected contact.

This makes Metrohub suitable for work environments where humans and robots operate in close proximity, provided the installation is carried out in accordance with applicable safety requirements and risk assessments. Its compact design and flexible programming options allow the system to be adapted to a wide range of production environments.

Integrated software for measurement and reverse engineering

Metrohub is fully integrated with the Revopoint software ecosystem for analysis, measurement, and product development. With Revo Measure, users can perform advanced inspections, CAD comparisons, GD&T measurements, point cloud analysis, and generate detailed measurement reports.

For reverse engineering, the captured scan data can be further processed in Revo Design, where point clouds and 3D data can be used as a foundation for creating digital models and continuing the design process.

The combination of Trackit, Vbot 9, and Revopoint software creates a complete workflow, from the physical component to analyzed 3D data and the final digital model.
