PolyWood

PolyWood™ is made entirely of PLA using special foaming technology. It has the same density and appearance as wood. PolyWood™ is a filament that imitates wood without real wood dust, which eliminates all risks of clogging of the nozzles.

Since polywood does not contain wood, any color can be combined with the material. Printed parts have a stunning surface finish and visual layering is kept to a minimum. Other colors and materials are already in development.

Polywood™ is the only 3D printable foam to date. The density of Polywood is on average 0.8 g/cm3, which is about 35-40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component weighs less.

Recommended settings

• Nozzle temperature: 190˚C – 210˚C
• Printing speed: 30mm/s – 50mm/s
• Bed temperature: 25˚C – 60˚C
• Bed surface: glass with glue, blue tape, BuilTak®
• Cooling fan: On
