Ultrafuse PA has been specifically developed for 3D printing and is based on BASF's polyamide range known as Ultramid. The filament possesses unique mechanical properties due to its chemical structure, making it suitable for a wide range of applications and a broader temperature range.
Highlights:
- Good fatigue resistance
- Low melting point makes it printable with many FFF printers.
- Good wear resistance/lubrication
Ultrafuse PA
Ultrafuse PA is suitable for a wide range of applications, operating in a wider temperature range than normal PA filaments. BASF's Ultramid grades are molding compounds based on PA6, PA66, and various copolyamides such as PA6/66. Ultramid is known for its high mechanical strength, rigidity, and thermal stability.
Additionally, Ultramid offers good toughness at low temperatures. Thanks to its excellent properties, this material has become indispensable in almost all fields of engineering for a wide range of components and machine elements, as a high-quality electrical insulating material, and for numerous special applications.
With Ultrafuse PA, you can print semi-flexible thin components, although it becomes very rigid at greater thicknesses. It has a lower melting temperature than PA6 and PA66, so it can be printed at lower temperatures, and it exhibits higher impact resistance than PA6 and PA66, thus opening up a new field of application for end-users. Depending on specific needs, the formulation can be further optimized, and special filaments can be created.
