The Mingda MD-400D is a professional IDEX FDM high-temperature 3D printer designed for fast full-color, multi-material printing. For fast and smooth operation, Mingda has developed a proprietary 64-bit high-performance motherboard powered by a 6-core CPU. It ensures fast data processing and quick completion of 3D printing tasks. With 32GB of memory, you can store, export and quickly print large files with ease.

To provide a reliable and comfortable experience, the MD-400D is equipped with multiple useful features, such as a built-in filament detector, an intelligent resume print function, a flexible PEI build plate, an advanced dual cooling system, a remote monitoring camera, Wi-Fi support, efficient air filtration, silent operation, and an open material system that makes the choice of filaments literally unlimited. Print quality

The Mingda MD-400D can produce high-quality detailed parts with smooth surface finish. With its IDEX design, the machine can print with easy-to-remove and soluble support materials, and can effectively build complex models with overhangs, bridges, and hollow structures.

The MD-400D's IDEX system allows for flexible and precise control of the extruder. When using a single extruder, the other extruder is moved away from the print area to prevent unwanted filament from spilling onto the printed object. However, the extruders can also work simultaneously and independently if higher productivity is required.

With a flow rate of up to 40 mm³/s and a maximum printing speed of 500 mm/s, the Mingda MD-400D is 5 times faster than competing printers, significantly reducing production times. With an acceleration of up to 10000 mm/s², which means only 0.02 s from 0 to 300 mm/s, the machine is capable of printing large-scale models in a day.

For example, this helmet (266 x 210 x 130 mm) was printed by the Mingda MD-400D with PLA-HF and PVA at a speed of 250 mm/s in just 34 hours. Traditional large-format FDM printers on the market, with a printing speed of 50 mm/s, would print the same model in 4 days.

Designed with a fully enclosed metal chamber and modular guide rail structure, the printer not only maintains a constant printing temperature, but also ensures structural stability and printing process accuracy (up to ±0.1mm).

To eliminate ghosting and buzzing issues, the machine is designed with a self-developed vibration reduction function that automatically compensates for vibration during high-speed printing. In addition, the flow control mechanism allows for precise management of the filament amount, eliminating underprinting and overprinting. This leads to better print quality and precision with sharper details.

The MD-400D incorporates an automatic leveling system, which greatly improves printing efficiency and quality stability and helps reduce failures caused by an unleveled build bed. Precise nozzle gap calibration also allows the printer to create models with finer layer resolution.

Additionally, the machine boasts a flexible PEI platform. Thanks to its impressive viscosity, the build plate provides strong adhesion, high temperature resistance, and support for various materials. Additionally, it aims to prevent model warping and allows for effortless removal of completed prints by simply bending them.

As an IDEX 3D printer, the MD-400D offers four special printing modes that make it versatile and capable of tackling numerous projects. Thus, with the Duplicate mode, you can print two identical models at the same time. The Mirror mode creates symmetrical models and saves significant time. The Dual-Color mode involves printing a single model in two colors, giving you more creative freedom. Finally, the Support mode helps in printing complex structural models using high-performance and removable filaments. This makes it easy to remove the support, ensuring a smooth and successful printing experience.

Materials

The Mingda MD-400D features a dual gear direct extruder that gives it a unique ability to handle flexible filaments. Additionally, the machine is designed to accommodate both high-temperature and common hotends. The maximum temperature of the base hotend can reach 250°C, supporting popular materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, and more.

With an all-metal hotend and a hardened steel tip that can reach 350°C, the MD-400D can reliably print with a wide range of engineering and composite filaments, including PET carbon fiber, PET glass fiber, Nylon carbon fiber, Nylon glass fiber, and more, ensuring high dimensional accuracy and surface quality of printed parts. There is no need to replace the hotend when switching between different types of materials. In addition, the IDEX structure enables multi-color and multi-material printing with support filaments, such as S-Multi, S-HtPA, PVA, etc.

In addition, the MD-400D features a fast-heating aluminum alloy platform with a maximum temperature of 110 °C. Evenly heated and able to reach 60 °C in about 75 seconds, it ensures strong first layer adhesion and overall print quality. The heating speed remains the same at 220V and 110V.

The Mingda MD-400D 3D printer offers a large build area of ​​15.8 x 15.8 x 15.8 inches (400 x 400 x 400 mm) in freeform printing mode.
