Power mechanism
Print objects can be transported to the printer manually or automatically with the help of the carousel plate. Depending on the feeding mode, different print widths and heights result. When Eddie is used in manual mode, the food must be placed directly on the feeding arm. Alternatively, specially made trays can be used.
Simple operation
Up to 12 print objects can be placed on the carousel plate. During printing these can be easily positioned and removed, allowing for a continuous and smooth workflow.
No change in taste
Thanks to direct printing, no films or strange aftertastes are formed which could reduce the quality of the food.
Direct printing on food
Food printers in this price range usually print on wafer paper or fondant sheets. When glued to the product, they not only change the appearance and taste of the product, but can also reduce its value (e.g. a macaron with a wafer attached). Eddie prints directly onto the food product, ensuring a highly professional look and great detail. Even curved and irregular surfaces produce great-looking results
Complete food safety certifications
Eddie has been designed for use in food processing environments to meet all hygiene standards. Stainless steel housing, easy-to-clean components and certified ink with EU and FDA approvals make Eddie the safest food-grade printer in its class.
Printhead and ink cartridge included
Eddie has the print head and ink compartment in one cartridge, which prevents the formation of bacteria during operation in ink tubes or permanently installed print heads. If you run out of ink, inserting a new cartridge takes a few seconds. With every cartridge change you always use a new print head and therefore you literally get a new printer.
Custom trays
Trays and spacers, developed specifically for Eddie, are available for both power options. These allow printing on a wide variety of objects within specifications. Upon request it is possible to create customized trays.
When used with the included carousel feeder, Eddie can print on suitable food products such as biscuits, sweets, white chocolate, biscuits, macarons, marshmallows, chocolate lentils and much more with a maximum diameter of 89 mm and a height of 20 -25 mm.
Manual mode extends these parameters to a maximum of 120 x 120 mm and allows for thicker items with a maximum height of 27 mm.
The "macaron tray" is one of several new food trays designed especially for Eddie by DTM Print, including one for chocolate lentils and one with an etched grid that makes placing food much easier. Using custom trays, producing multiple items in a single run is simple, precise and, depending on the item, even faster.
Eddie platform kit
The carousel must be removed and the platform kit installed in its place. Each food item is then manually fed onto the platform.
