New firmware for Avata 2: spectacular slow motion

DJI has released a significant firmware update for the drone Avata 2 FPV. The new version, codenamed 01.00.0300, introduces a package of improvements and new functions that aim to further improve the user experience of the “pilot” and expand the capabilities of the drone.

One of the most significant additions is increased support for DJI FPV goggles and controllers.

The Avata 2 drone now supports DJI Goggles Integra (firmware v01.06.0000) and DJI Goggles 2 (firmware v01.10.0000), giving users more options for immersive flight experiences. In addition to the new goggles, the update includes support for the DJI RC Motion 2 remote controller (firmware v01.08.0000) and the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 (firmware v02.00.1000).

Current Avata or DJI FPV owners can then upgrade to Avata 2 for a better FPV flight experience.

For slow motion enthusiasts, the new firmware update for DJI Avata 2 introduces the ability to record video in stunning 4K resolution at 100 frames per second when using Goggles 3. This new feature allows for Ultra HD video while maintaining smooth and fluid movements, perfect for creating cinematic FPV footage. Video quality takes a step forward, a significant upgrade, giving users more creative options and higher-quality footage.

The update also includes support for Remote ID in some regions of the world. This feature ensures that the Avata 2 complies with the latest legal requirements, which require drones to transmit identification and location information during flight. This is a crucial new detail for pilots who must fly in compliance with new drone regulations, especially in the United States and Europe.

DJI has also addressed several previously reported issues with this firmware update. While the specific bug fixes are not detailed, these improvements should increase the overall stability and reliability of the Avata 2 , providing a smoother and more reliable flight experience.

In addition to firmware updates for the drone and its accessories, DJI has also released version 1.13.4 of the DJI Fly app for both iOS and Android. The updated app is essential for accessing new features and ensuring compatibility with the latest firmware versions. The drone maker has also added several new AI-powered editing features to the app Fly.

A new firmware update for Goggles 3 (version 01.00.0200) has finally been made available, adding a new wireless streaming function and support for display color restoration in D-LogM/HLG mode, for further improved video quality.
