DJI Dock 2 takes autonomous drone operations to new heights
New “Drone in a Box” Automated Business Solution Launches Globally with DJI Matrice 3D/3TD
DJI presents today DJI Dock 2 . Featuring the uniquely designed DJI Matrice 3D/3TD drone, this lightweight “drone in a box” solution is cost-effective, simple to install and deploy. Compatible with DJI FlightHub 2, automated aerial missions can be managed and monitored through cloud-based operations. As a powerful end-to-end business solution, DJI Dock 2 can simplify your daily survey, inspection, asset management and security operations.
“Over the years, DJI's industrial-grade drones have helped everyday heroes around the world save lives, improve worker safety across industries, and preserve ecosystems amid climate change,” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI. “Today, too many workers must manually perform repetitive but complex and dangerous jobs on site. With DJI Dock 2, we offer an automated, cost-effective aerial solution to complete these jobs efficiently from a safe distance.”
Easily conduct automated missions with Dock 2
Compared to the previous generation, Dock 2 is significantly smaller and lighter, and offers superior operational capabilities and intelligent cloud-based functions. For example, using DJI FlightHub 2, you can create high-precision 3D models based on collected flight data. Armed with this information, drones can be programmed to automatically adjust the camera angle to capture the same area on subsequent flights. Routine surveying tasks can be automated with features like this, improving drone safety and efficiency workers.
- Lightweight and easy to implement
DJI Dock 2 weighs just 34kg and measures 570mm x 583mm x 465mm. Being 75% smaller and 68% lighter than the previous generation, two adults can carry it by hand, making setup easier and more convenient. economical.
-
Efficient site assessment for rapid implementation
DJI Dock 2 uses vision sensors to evaluate a site before launching the drone, ensuring that the flight path and destination have good GNSS signals. This significantly speeds up the site selection process to 12 minutes or less, compared to the previous 5 hours. Once ready, it can quickly complete the inspection of the propellers and obtain precise RTH position information using its dual RTK antennas, allowing the drone to take off within one minute.
-
Reliable in extreme weather conditions
DJI Dock 2 can operate stably, even in harsh climates and environments. It is rated IP55 for dust and water resistance and uses rain, wind speed and temperature indicators to detect weather changes in real time. Using DJI FlightHub 2 with online weather forecast, you can send timely alerts and end flight activities as needed
-
Stable and cost-effective remote operations
DJI Dock 2 can be programmed to complete missions automatically. However, operators will be able to control the stabilizer angle from anywhere at any time. The internal and external fisheye lenses provide information on real-time conditions inside and outside the dock, allowing operators to remotely observe weather conditions, environmental circumstances and take-off and landing situations. In the hangar, the drone's battery can be wirelessly charged from 90% to 20% in approximately 32 minutes.
- Minimal support, even during emergencies
DJI Dock 2 only requires maintenance every six months. If a power failure occurs, it can operate independently thanks to the built-in battery for 5 hours, leaving enough time for the drone to return and land. Additionally, DJI FlightHub 2 immediately sends email notifications if a flight activity fails, allowing operators to accurately track and resolve issues.
High precision aerial missions with the new DJI Matrice 3D/3TD
The all-new DJI Matrice 3D/3TD drone is designed to meet the high-level operational requirements for DJI Dock 2. Both drones are equipped with integrated RTK antennas, omnidirectional obstacle detection and automatic obstacle bypass, which improve the success rate of any automated flight task. They also boast a maximum flight autonomy of 50 minutes, an operational range of 10 km, an IP54 rating for wind and dust and can recharge for 400 cycles.
- 3D matrix it is designed for automatic mapping and surveying missions. It features a telephoto lens (1/2-inch CMOS, 162mm format equivalent, 12MP effective pixels) and a wide-angle camera (4/3 CMOS, 24mm format equivalent, 20MP effective pixels) with mechanical shutter, meeting the needs for 1:500 high-precision mapping tasks.
- 3TD matrix is designed for security and inspection operations. Features the same telephoto lens as 3D Matrix but a different wide camera (1/1.32-inch CMOS, 24mm equivalent format, 48 MP effective pixels). Also includes an infrared camera additional (with 40 mm equivalent format, 640 x 512 resolution for normal mode and 1280 x 1024 resolution for UHR infrared image mode, 28x digital zoom) capable of representing both visible light and thermal images.
Integrated open ecosystem with extensive functionality
DJI supports an open ecosystem, which allows operators the flexibility to use both DJI and third-party software and payloads. For example, DJI Dock 2 is compatible with DJI TerraAPI for 2D/3D model reconstruction or DJI FlightHub 2 for cloud-based operations. Meanwhile, DJI Matrice 3D/3DT can utilize third-party payloads such as speakers, reflectors, or parachutes using the E-Port and E-Port Lite (all available for purchase separately).
